We went in for our first second trimester visit to meet our OB last week. One of the things we shared was we could not wait to find out if we are going to have a boy or a girl. So, Dr. Anzaldo gave my belly a good push and our little baby obediently flipped around for the full money shot! My initial reaction was a giggle and "oh boy!" because there was zero doubt what I was looking at - a BOY! Chris was grinning from ear to ear and did make sure to ask the Dr. a few times to make sure.
Even though the grand parents should be the first to know about a lot of the baby updates, we wanted to tell them in a special way. With the distance between us, we decided to pick up a few very gender specific shirts and wrap it up so grandma and grandpa can open up their gift and reveal the surprise! We were able to drive up to Riverside to deliver one to my parents and shipped out a package to Chris's parents in Arizona. They all were thrilled and it seemed to be a fun way to share the good news. Sorry they were close to the last to know (Facebook was the very last at least).
On another note, the plaid shirt says, "Chris Shaddix's son" like nothing else. And the note for, "Here comes trouble" does sound cute, but I sure hope it is not prophetic!
