...he will quickly learn how much he is loved by so many friends and family! This weekend two wonderful girl friends threw an amazing shower to welcome the little guy (be sure to check out the link!). I will admit, I was a bit nervous about how I would handle the evening seeing how so far I tear up at just about every baby gift I've received and any mention of how wonderful it is to be expecting to meet Owen after all these years of prayer and waiting! But, I made it through the night with just a few moments tearing up and had an absolute blast seeing so many terrific ladies from San Diego.
My highlights from the evening where definitely:
- The ladies! People taking time out of their Saturday evenings to spend time to celebrate this great gift was the best.
- Wishes for baby. It seems the top wishes for Owen are not to be afraid of the dark, followed by a close second of not being afraid to be himself; To grow in the Lord, followed by a very close second of growing hair! But, if his head is shaped as great as Chris's, Owen can sport baldness pretty strong.
- The photo ops with "Owen's thoughts". People had some great things for my little thinker.
- The milk and cookies. My favorite treat!
