With Owen's birthday looking very likely to be January 4, 2012, I am spending today resting, praying and thanking God for the miracle I've experienced these past 41 weeks. It has been such an amazing time seeing His faithfulness, going through a new experience with Chris and receiving all the love and support of so many wonderful friends and family members. To know the amount of prayer and love Owen received before he even enters this world is amazing. And to know that he will continue to be loved by so many once he's here is just icing on the cake! My prayer is Owen will grow in the wisdom and knowledge of the Lord and have his own relationship and experiences with God. The best Chris and I can do is pray for Owen and continue to live lives that model two people who love God and each other. Knowing that takes so much pressure off trying to be the perfect parent - or planning! One thing I have learned for sure, is plans only take us so far. I planned on starting a family years ago, now here I am after 12 awesome years of marriage having my first child - and yes, I planned on having my first child in 2011 and getting a helpful tax deduction come April, but hey, what can I do about that now?
So, just as I've kept off the blogging world the past week as I soaked in a few days of rest and relaxation (oh, and hours of doctors appointments!) with Chris waiting for Owen, I expect to be off for at least a week now that he will be here. I can't wait to post pictures of my little guy though. I promise they will come!
| I never thought I would take the time to stop and take one last pregnancy photo - then post it! - before heading to the hospital. |
I can't believe how awesome you look 9 days after your due date, Adessa! I'm so thankful that you've had a good pregnancy overall, and we're praying for you & Owen today!
