We wrapped up this week with a great evening at the Campbell's and eating some delicious Chinese food! How we met Jeff and Sarah is a pretty neat story of how once again, God was working in our move up to Orange. I'll see if I can make this story short. Moving from 11 years in San Diego and being involved in our church and building a family there, we prayed we could quickly get plugged in once up in Orange as we've come to depend on our church family so much! So, as we were seeking for the perfect niche for us here, one evening when Chris went to check the mail, he met Jeff. The elevator meeting to check the mail turned into a conversation where Jeff invited Chris to join the Life Group he and Sarah went to with the church we were going to in Costa Mesa, with a group that was right in our area (the Campbell's cute 2 month old and our 2 year old niece's presence helped getting the conversation going that night). The "chance" meeting quickly turned into a great relationship with their family where every meal we've had together feels like we are spending time with people we have known for years and the Life Group has not only given us a weekly outlet for prayer and fellowship, but familiar faces and connections to mutual friends from years ago (making the group seem so much more familiar) and three other pregnant ladies to talk to during my pregnancy. The Campbell's also referred us to my OB, who gave us our first glimpse of little Owen!
So, with all that said, last night, on the 9th day of Christmas and the countdown to Owen's due date (which I am still convinced he will hold out for at least 3 days after that to join us), I had a great time, great food and was reminded of God's faithfulness and presence in our lives.
And since I once again brought my camera, but never took a picture once last night, this picture is from a year ago - months after we met our Orange family.

It's great to have friends like that close by. And Owen will love playing with their kids when he gets older!
