Life Legacy

It is undeniable that my husband is going to be one of the best daddy's! His excitement during the pregnancy has made the experience all the more special for me. It was so much fun seeing him at our family baby shower and the smiles on his face as he saw all the cute little gifts for Owen. With a month to go, the reality of meeting our little guy is just putting us into anticipation and excitement overdrive!

Excitement is not what makes Chris so special though. He is praying for our son and preparing his heart for raising Owen on the right path, so that when he is older, he will not depart from it (Proverbs 22:6). Chris had the neatest story this week of praying for "tools" he desires to pass down as a tangible gift someday as Owen grows up. The tools are a pen and journal. Not just every day items we can pick up at Target, but special ones to write down words of wisdom for our son to present to him someday. After Chris finished praying about leaving a legacy and tangible ways to do that, he ventured to Starbucks and while working on school work, met someone who noticed Chris writing and gave Chris a wonderful fountain pen. The full story is really neat, but in short, it was hard to see the gift from a stranger as a random act, but I can only see it as a small way of God continuing to show us His hand through our early journey as parents. We are blessed and I feel very blessed to be taking this journey with such a wonderful man and cannot wait to see him holding little Owen soon.
